The Balikpapan Coal Terminal (BCT) and the rampant mining activities in the East Kalimantan region exemplifies the growth of this industry.

Balikpapan is highly acclaimed as the most interesting oil town in Indonesia, and possibly in the world. It is at the center of oil and gas exploration and production activities that have been taking place in East Kalimantan since 1897 when the first oil well was drilled in Balikpapan.

The presence of its massive offshore potential and the recently upgraded Pertamina Oil refinery in Balikpapan has proven the massive potential of this segment which is slated for more growth in 2023!
